- Even with the incentive of cash...most gainfully employed people are not willing to put up with the time and discomfort. Because of that, most collection takes place among people who need money, in low-income neighborhoods — a morally ambiguous situation at best. So while plasma-related therapies have saved countless lives, they’ve always been shadowed by a sense of exploitation and scandal — and human tragedy.
