Case Study 04 - Final Quiz - Answer (Question 5)

What are alert values or situations and why are they significant to staff in small facilities?

Alert values or situations include both life-threatening and non-life-threatening results or situations that warrant prompt communication to the patient's physician and/or to the TM medical director or consultant. They are especially important to staff in small facilities because clinical and technical staff may have limited experience in dealing with critical values and alert values/situations.
