Case Study B1 - Resolution

Report maternal results as follows:

  • O Rh-negative
  • Antibody screen: negative

Depending on facility policy Rh Immune Globulin may be recommended because of the inability to determine the weak D status of the neonate.

Neonatal Results:

  • Rh indeterminate due to positive direct antiglobulin test. Retest in 3 months.
  • Positive DAT probably due to circulating maternal anti-A.
